Republican-led State Senate Votes On Fate Of Suspended Broward Sheriff

The great debate over the suspended Broward sheriff's fate up for a vote in Tallahassee today. To reinstate Scott Israel or remove him from office? That's the question for state senators. Many believe this could all come down to a vote along party-lines where Republicans have the majority. Democratic State Senator Gary Farmer voted to reinstate in the rules committee vote Monday. He says Israel is not incompetent nor did he neglect his duty during the Parkland massacre. Governor Ron DeSantis disagrees and says the community would have been at risk if he didn't suspend the sheriff. No matter how this shakes out, Israel vows to get his job back. He has already filed the paperwork to run for reelection in 2020.
