DeSantis Signs Legislature To Import Drugs From Canada

Floridians could soon start importing cheaper prescription drugs from Canada.

Florida is on track to become the first state in the nation to take advantage of a federal law allowing the importation of cheaper drugs from Canada.

Governor Ron DeSantis says the federal government still needs to sign off on the program, but it has support from President Trump.

Opponents of the program warn of counterfeit or contaminated drugs.

DeSantis credited lawmakers for passing the bill, despite intense lobbying by big pharmaceutical companies.

The Governor ceremonially signed the legislation today in The Villages.
