Health Dept. Confirms West Palm Beach Restaurant Worker Had Hepatitis A

The Florida Department of Health says an employee of a local restaurant may have exposed customers to hepatitis A.

Officials confirm that the food service worker at the Butcher Shop Beer Garden and Grill in West Palm Beach had the liver infection and may have exposed patrons between April 10th and May 1st.

The Health Department wants to hear from anyone who went to the restaurant during that time and is showing symptoms of hepatitis A, which include sudden onset of abdominal discomfort, dark urine, fever and diarrhea. They also urge anyone with those symptoms to seek medical attention immediately.

There have been 15 confirmed cases of hepatitis A in Palm Beach County so far this year, compared with 13 at this time in 2018.

The Butcher Shop Beer Garden and Grill is located at 209 6th Street, West Palm Beach, Fl.
