Foo Fighters Play Misfit Football Players in Hilarious Short Film: Watch

When Dave Grohl's not playing charity gigs or tumbling off stageshe's apparently directing short films. On Friday (January 18), Foo Fighters shared a hilarious promo video for their Super Saturday Night concert, directed by their band leader.

The five-and-a-half-minute long clip follows a team of misfit football players called the Jackalopes. The film takes place in the 1970s, with Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, and Michael Strahan starring as sportscasters. As each player steps off the bus we get to hear his ridiculous story, beginning with Grohl playing "Larry Butz," an alcoholic felon who's been arrested 36 times in the past 36 weeks.

Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins form the rest of the rowdy team, which ends up having to forfeit the game after every single player gets injured. The clip ends with a young fan asking Butz to sign his football. He gladly obliges, but it's not his name he draws on the souvenir.

On February 2nd, FF will be performing at a custom-built, 3-tiered, 72,000 square-foot venue built specifically for the Super Saturday Night concert. The epic Super Bowl pre-party will be held in Atlanta, where Super Bowl 53 will take place the next day. Run The Jewels is also set to perform.
