Sharon Osbourne says she's working on a movie about her early courtship with Ozzy Osbourne.
"[The film] starts the day we meet and will focus on how our lives were totally different but very similar in many ways," Sharon said. "I was brought up by a powerful, successful father, and Ozzy was brought up extremely poor and somewhat abused."
Sharon is the daughter of renown rock agent and manager Don Arden, who managed Ozzy at the beginning of his solo career in 1979. The two first met about a decade earlier when Sharon was working as a receptionist for her father.
The film is "definitely going to be a tearjerker," Sharon said. "It's not going to be a sex-and-drugs movie at all. Ozzy is so much more than that. I would hate to be a cliché."
The film will accompany a new book about "infidelity and what it does to people," she adds. It was inspired by Ozzy's extra-marital dalliances that were uncovered in 2016 and nearly caused the couple to divorce.
Ozzy's No More Tours 2 farewell tour is continuing for the next two years. While the heavy metal icon says he can't imagine giving up music entirely, he has said that he wants to take some time to focus on being a full-time grandfather and a part-time rockstar.
“It’s what I do," he said of performing in a Rolling Stone interview this past winter. "It's a passion for me. It's the greatest love affair I ever had, being in a rock band and playing for the people who come to the shows.”
While Ozzy has publicly waffled one whether or not he wants to make a new studio album, he's indicated that he has a number of songs that are ready to record if he wants.
Ozzy retired Black Sabbath in March of 2017 with his co-founding bandmates guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler. More recently, both Ozzy and Iommi have agreed they would consider bringing back their legendary band for one more gig in 2022.
