Listen to Paul Simon on iHeartRadio

Paul Simon and Edie Brickell say they're fine after their arrest on domestic violence charges over the weekend. The musical couple appeared in court in Connecticut Monday, holding hands as they entered the court.

According to The Hartford Courant, Simon told the judge the argument they had was "atypical."  Brickell reportedly added, "He's no threat to me at all."

Police reported that the two were involved in a minor physical altercation on Saturday, adding that there was aggressiveness on both sides.  Still, the judge agreed there was "not a continuing threat of violence" and declined to issue a protective order per the recommendation of family services. Simon and Brickell are due back in court May 16th.

The couple told reporters after leaving the New Canaan court Monday that they were going to watch their son's ball game.
